National Shrine of St. Padre Pio

Pray, Hope and Don't Worry. -St. Padre Pio

Santo Padre Pio Parish & Shrine is situated in San Pedro, Sto. Tomas, Batangas under the archdiocese of Lipa.

Rev. Fr. Jojo Gonda, the Parish Priest & Rector conceptualize a church that is nature friendly, with a unique Filipino and tropical design using mostly indigenous materials: wood, bamboo, stone, sawali and pawid. The roof is shaped like a giant salakot, the traditional protection of farmers  and fishermen from the rains and the heat of the sun, analogously reminding the faithful of how God protects from all evil and harm. The construction began May 25, 2010 which happened to be the 123rd birthday of St. Padre Pio.
Now, many parishoners and tourists visit this place.

My first visit here was a very quick one and after almost a year, I've been able to come back again, attended the mass and roamed around.

Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Francesco Fiorgone), a priest, became famous because of exhibiting stigmata for most of his life.

Fountain of Hope

Here are some stations of the cross:

"Pray, pray to the Lord with me, because the whole world needs prayer. And every day, when your heart especially feels the loneliness of life, pray. Pray to the Lord, because even God needs our prayers." -St. Pio of Pietrelcina
