We welcomed the new year with an out of town vacation and this trip was extra special because it was merely family bonding.
When we went to Cebu we didn't have any itinerary as some advised my brother that there are vans/services that awaits outside the airport which provides an exclusive tour. You just have to choose the best price so basically that's what we did. We just let ourselves loose and go with the flow.
Before we started our tour we had a stopover to take our lunch first. We had it in a "paluto" kind of restaurant where you can choose among the fresh sea foods and have it cooked. This is where I've tasted the best calamares in town and I have not tasted the same here anywhere in Manila restaurants.
Our first destination was at Lapu-Lapu Shrine, a 20 meter high bronze statue of Lapu-Lapu, a Filipino warrior who defended the place against the Spanish invaders together with his men and were able to kill the leader named Ferdinand Magellan. It is said that in this very spot, the first Philippine battle happened last 1521.
Next is the Cebu Taoist Temple which is located in Beverly Hills Subd. It was built last 1972 and became another tourist attraction in the city
A trip to Cebu wouldn't be complete without visiting Magellan's Cross, the prominent landmark of Cebu. The ceiling is painted with the mural of first Christian Mass. The kiosk of Magellan's cross is beside Basilica Minore del Santo Nino.
After this tour, we checked-in on our Hotel at Crown Regency Hotel & Towers. Since there was a promo, we booked for three bedrooms. The hotel is convenient as it is closely located to the City's hub. It is also known for the famous one-of-a-kind adventure, Sky Experience Adventure and we definitely didn't let our chance come to pass and tried it by ourselves. You can view it here
We capped off our first day in Cebu by having a good body massage at Thai Boran which is just near the Hotel.
Because we consider our Mom and Aunties, we didn't want our trip to be an exhausting one so on our second day, we just hang-out in Ayala Mall. This time we go to a place by commute, taxi and jeepney.
We proceeded then into Larsian which has numerous stalls that offers grilled meat and other seafood menu. We ordered their known Puso Rice or Hanging Rice. a steamed rice wrapped in a woven coconut leaves and other delicious viands.

Of course, I maximized our stay in the Hotel so I enjoyed one of their swimming pool.
On our third and last day, we just stayed in the hotel until check-out and just purchase pasalubong before heading out to airport for our flight back to Manila.
There's more to love in Cebu aside from their delectable delicacies. I would gladly go back here and take a visit to today's must see tourist spots such as Sirao Flower Farm, whale shark watching in Oslob and beaches in Bantayan Island.
There are really many places to visit in Cebu. I'm glad you had the chance to explore some of its the best plast together with your lovely family ;) A worth story to share!
