Cape Santiago Lighthouse

When we had our family outing at Puesto del Sol in Calatagan, Batangas, we also had a side trip to Cape Santiago Lighthouse which is another must-see attraction in Calatagan.  A 51 feet tall structure and only a few minutes away from the resort so we maximized the opportunity that we were there and headed to the place in the afternoon.

It was our first time to visit a lighthouse. We were assisted and toured by the caretaker. There is no admission fee. We climbed via spiral staircase all the way to the top.  Rambling around inside was a bit scary since it was an old structure that has been built since 1890's and no other guests aside from us. I felt that I might see a ghost anytime. haha. We have seen marks at the wall while taking the stairs that looks like a blood or maybe those were just stains and dirt.

We entered into the gate first. Glad that we were able to go inside because the care taker was around.

The stairs

Here are some of the marks that I'm telling:

You will see at the peak an awesome view where the cool wind, lush greens and beautiful beach made it so relaxing as well as breathtaking.

My aunties were afraid to go outside (nalulula sila  hehe)

After our short stay here we went back to the resort. I'm happy that we have spent some time to visit a place that is part of the history.

    1. Hello March, buti ka pa naexplore mo ang light house sa Ilocos, I've been there pero hindi na kami nakapasok sa loob due to lots of tourists & sobrang napagod kami kakalakad papunta sa cape bojedor.hehe. Ito palang ang naakyat ko. And yes, though a bit frightening this is really pretty cool.
